How the work
actually gets made.

Sarah Wolff Bensimon

I’ve always been drawn to how the work actually gets made. Not only the idea, but everything it takes to bring it to life: the people, the planning, the money, the logistics and the decisions no one sees coming.

My career started in production. Since then I’ve built and led studios, run teams, overseen complex shoots, developed production and post capabilities, managed P&Ls, negotiated with partners and built the systems that make the work better, most recently bringing AI tools into design and post-production workflows.

Nearly two decades in the industry have built a network of directors, producers, editors, crews and specialists around the world, and I’ve overseen productions in 12 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Knowing who to call, who to trust and how to put the right people together is a big part of how I work.

As the roles grew, so did the problems: creative, financial, operational, and usually all three at once. The best answer isn’t always the obvious one, and understanding the people and the business behind the work matters as much as understanding the work itself.

WOLFF. is the natural next step. I come in when something needs an experienced hand, a fresh perspective or someone who knows how to get it done.

How I lead

Close enough to the work to make a difference.

Staying hands-on is deliberate, because the details shape the result. That has meant art-directing props, pitching in on wardrobe, hair and makeup, styling food, shooting behind-the-scenes photography, stepping in to direct and covering shoots when colleagues couldn’t travel. Whether building a department or standing on set, I do what the work needs, and I never ask anyone to do something I wouldn’t do myself.

Even if that means jumping through a window to unlock an Airstream, taking BTS photos and headshots when budgets are tight, or stepping in as an account lead to support the team.
